Primary Responsibilities

I am responsible for the Granite wholesale business that distributes non-standard personal and small commercial products to its broker base. This is a £100M business that distributes to 300 plus brokers. This is a high tech business that specialises in unique solutions for those more difficult to place risks.

I also sit on the SMT so have a shared responsibility for the wider Acorn Group and have recently headed up two strategic projects to materially improve our Defaqto scores through product refresh and innovation. The other project is Counter Fraud and how we better protect the business and our customers from the increasing sophistication and effects of fraud

Employment History

30 plus years’ experience in senior management insurance roles. My experience spans global insurers, Gibraltar based insurers and insurance brokers. Plus extensive knowledge of both commercial insurance and personal lines, both standard and non-standard.

At both QBE and RSA, I pioneered the insurer’s UK SME e-trade programmes, transforming the business from call-centre / traditional trading to the launch of multiple full-cycle e-trade products across Property, Casualty, Motor and Professional lines successfully operating through multiple broker distribution channels.

Granite Underwriting is currently seeing a large growth in its distribution and I am proud to have been instrumental in all of its recent endeavours. We will continue to concentrate our efforts into providing the best technical solutions for our broker base, to ensure we remain a leader in the UK niche underwriting market.
